Stay Ready Boxing Gym

First bell

Your first visit

Here is what a first hour actually involves, so none of it is a surprise.

  1. 1Get in touch firstTell Stay Ready it is your first class. The gym confirms which session fits your goal and level rather than leaving you to guess from a timetable.
  2. 2Arrive earlyGive yourself a few minutes before the session starts. Say at the desk that you are new, and someone will walk you in.
  3. 3Hands get wrappedWraps go on before anything else. If you have never wrapped your hands, you will be shown how. It takes a couple of minutes and it matters.
  4. 4FundamentalsStance, guard, footwork, the jab. Every class is designed to teach real boxing fundamentals, and that is where a first session starts.
  5. 5Rounds, at your paceWork on the bags with coaching as you go. You are meant to be corrected. Nobody expects a first-timer to look good in the first hour.
  6. 6Cool downConditioning to finish and a stretch. Ask a coach what to come back to, and what to bring next time.
